Information on Alumni Weekend - May 24 & 25, 2019

Nothing remains the same and sometimes change is needed to inject new energy to maintain interest in an event. After several years of decreased participation at our traditional dance following the Saturday evening banquet, the committee has made the decision to move the music, dancing, and conversation to Friday night.

Please plan to join friends and classmates at the Nelsonville Elks on Friday evening, May 24 at 7 p.m.  Food from the Elks bar menu and drinks will be available for purchase.  There is no cost to attend this event. 

The traditional alumni events will continue to take on Saturday, May 25, including the class luncheons and evening banquet with class reports and introduction of scholarship recipients. Tickets for the banquet will be on sale beginning April 15 at Blackburn Home Furnishings. Cost is $20.

We look forward to seeing you Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate the spirit of the Nelsonville High School Greyhounds.

The Nelsonville High School Alumni Association granted 23 Nelsonville-York graduating seniors with $1,000 scholarships during its 139th annual alumni banquet on Saturday, May 27, 2017. 50th Anniversary of 1967 Baseball Championship

Nelsonville Welcomes High School Alums

Nelsonville welcomes high school alums back on Memorial Day weekend. In addition to NHS and NYHS class reunions and the alumni banquet and dance, the Square is alive with activity Friday night May 27. The monthly event Final Friday's theme will be "Taking It To the Street" with musicians, food and "Windows In Time" historical and artistic window displays. The windows feature The Nelsonville Brick Co., Wilson Brothers Grocery and A Christmas Carol promotion of events that will occur next December. The 1966 NHS rock and roll band The Hitch-Hikers will perform at the Opera House at 7 p.m. Balcony and SRO tickets are available at stuartsoperahouse.org and proceeds benefit the local food pantry.
